Kazakhstan gained independence on December 16, 1991. The capital is the city of Astana. The state language is Kazakh. The main export goods are produced in the mining, fuel and energy, metallurgical, chemical and grain industries. The country's main trading partners are Russia, China, European countries and the CIS.
Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan tries to put in direct contact businesses of Kazakhstan and Singapore and simplify business opportunities.
Almaty city hosted Kazakhstan-Singapore business Forum in March 2014 while in October month of the same year, Singapore held a business conference dedicated to investment potential of Special Economic Zones of Kazakhstan. In September 2015, the wide range of investment projects was presented in Singapore road-show in the agricultural, chemical, petrochemical, logistics and transportation sectors. On December 8, 2016, by the initiative of the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Singapore ?Kazakhstan-Asia Pacific Trade and Investment Chamber (KAPTIC)" was established for the further promotion of trade, investment and cooperation between the businesses, enhancement of the competitiveness of Kazakhstani national enterprises on the global markets and attracting investments to Kazakhstan.
Economic, tourism and cultural exchanges are expected to see a breakthrough after launching direct flights between the two countries. Furthermore, a unilateral decision by our government to introduce a 30-day visa-free policy for citizens of 54 states, including Singapore, has created very comfortable conditions for travel to Kazakhstan.
