Angsana Routes Pte Ltd (UEN: 201104790H) is incorporated in Singapore. Our shareholders and directors are from Singapore. Our forefathers arrived in Singapore in the 1930s from Fujian (福建省)and Guangdong (广东省) provinces of China.
We source our products from various provinces of China. The general consensus is to question the quality of goods from China. We take the less common route and view that intense competitive pressures of the thousands of manufacturers for various products internally within China will translate into a wide range of quality. Our value-add to you is to seek out the best-of-breed for each product range. Singapore remains an international trading port and its role as an intermediary between east and west remains relevant today.
Angsana Routes focuses on niche products. Niche products can be divided into 3 categories.
The first category relates to products which are on the verge of being accepted by the mainstream audience. The key is to identify these niche products at the inflexion where niche becomes mainstream. Too early and disappointment will be guaranteed. Too late and profit margins will be wafer thin. We aspire to assist you and your clients to identify these product just as they are about to be widely accepted. Examples of these products will be sustainable technologies such as solar powered appliances. Another category are healthy life-style products such as soya bean milk machines, sports accessories and organic home farming equipment.
The second category of niche products will remain niche forever. These showcase the traditional arts and crafts of China. These include replicas of traditional Ming and Qing dynasty furniture, Chinese inkbrush paintings, pottery, bamboo products and fresh water pearls (for ladies' accessories). Period costumes from the various regions of China are also popular as these are authentic and reasonable in price.
The third category relates to products with high profit margins due to market inefficiencies. Examples of market inefficiencies are inefficient distribution of market information and imbalances in demand and supply. These include products where there are sudden decreases in supply (unfavourable weather) or unexpected increases in demand (unexpected surge in consumer demand). Seasonal products such as Lunar New Year and Christmas decorations and accessories belong to this category.
International trade will gradually lead to exchange of ideas and a deeper understanding amongst various cultures and peoples. At Angsana Routes, we aspire to be a little cog within this global network of trade and ideas for the betterment of humanity. Angsana Routes is named after the ancient Silk Route and the local Angsana tree. The Silk Route was the ancient network of trade routes that linked Europe-North Africa-Central Asia-China. The Angsana tree is a relatively large tropical tree which provides shade for all in the sun. It can grow up to 40 metres tall. It is a decidous tree which bears fragrant yellow flowers. It is commonly found in Singapore and South East Asia. At Angsana Routes, we aspire to be your dependable friend in rain or shine in our unconventional route of life and discovery together.
