Since its inception in 1983 as the Canada-Singapore Business Association, and renamed as the Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Singapore in 2003, CanCham Singapore has grown into a dynamic and highly networked international business association. With membership nearing 300 members, CanCham has experienced an exciting growth phase by focusing on providing value to its members, while riding the wave of rapidly rising ASEAN economies and increased bilateral trade between Canada and Singapore.

Our two countries have a long-standing history of diplomatic ties, dating back to when Singapore gained its independence in 1965. Since then, Singapore has become the second largest investment destination for Canadian companies in Southeast Asia. In 2014, Canadian investment in Singapore totaled $2.9 billion and Singapore investment in Canada totaled almost $700 million.

Membership in CanCham provides access to high-level and relevant Singaporean, Canadian, and Asian industry and government networks. CanCham partners with its in-market stakeholders, including the High Commission of Canada in Singapore, to provide its members with business leads, information sharing, marketing and advocacy opportunities. The Chamber also partners with Singaporean and Singapore-based stakeholders to further business networking opportunities for its members.

The Chamber supports Canadian businesses investing in both Singapore and ASEAN as well as Singaporean companies looking to invest in Canada. Major Canadian firms who are members of CanCham include Manulife, Air Canada, Brookfield, The Bank of Nova Scotia, Bank of Montreal, Royal Bank of Canada, TD Securities and Canadian National Railway, while Singaporean multinational firms such as Agrocorp International are members of CanCham to support their growing interests in Canada.
