Nanyang Technological University - NTUitive Pte Ltd (NTUitive in short) is the University innovation and enterprise company. NTUitive supports the University mission to develop an innovative ecosystem to encourage innovation, foster entrepreneurship and facilitate the commercialisation of research.

NTUitive challenge is to create an environment where there is a shared vision of innovation and academic entrepreneurship; where faculty and students are encouraged to explore opportunities, take measured risks, learn from failure and challenge long-held assumptions.

NTUitive is responsible for managing the intellectual property assets of the University and to help take technology from the lab to the marketplace. Its activities are intended to translate the outcome of research efforts into economic benefits and improve people lives. At the same time it supports the University mission to make innovation and entrepreneurship a defining feature of the University brand of education. These efforts are expected to lead to the creation of the next generation of entrepreneurial leaders and new business ventures.

NTUitive is supported by a team of professionals who can handle the challenges of technology, intellectual property, legal and business issues involved in technology commercialisation and new business start-ups.

Capitalising on NTU reputation as a leader in the fields of membrane technologies, additive manufacturing and photonics, we have been selected to manage two national innovation clusters and a consortium in these areas.

The 3 national initiatives are:

1. National Additive Manufacturing Innovation Cluster (NAMIC)

The National Additive Manufacturing Innovation Cluster (NAMIC) is part of the Innovation Cluster Program (ICP) led by NTUitive, supported by the National Research Foundation and in partnership with the SPRING Singapore and Economic Development Board of Singapore. NAMIC aims to increase Singapore adoption of additive manufacturing technologies to enhance competitiveness in the rapidly evolving landscape of digital industrialisation. This is accomplished by nurturing promising AM technologies and start-ups, as well as accelerating translation R&D with a focus on commercial applications. NAMIC also assist companies seeking capital injection either through project joint-funding or leveraging on its investor networks.

2. Separation Technologies Applied Research and Translation (START) Centre

The Separation Technologies Applied Research and Translation (START) Centre is also a part of the Innovation Cluster Program (ICP) led by NTUitive, supported by the National Research Foundation and in partnership with the SPRING Singapore and Economic Development Board of Singapore. START is set up as a national-level facility to bridge the translation gap between laboratory processes, results and testing, and full-scale final product. START aims to provide significant risk mitigation for the commercialisation of materials, equipment and processes related to separation technologies.

3. LUX Photonics Consortium

LUX Photonics Consortium is an initiative by Nanyang Technological University (NTU) and National University of Singapore (NUS); and is supported by the National Research Foundation. The Consortium serves as a catalyst and a networking platform to translate cutting-edge research in photonics into diverse applications underpinned by the value chain created. It aims to be a platform for the global photonics industry, to leverage photonics research and resources in Institutes of Higher Learning (IHLs) for industry and to create synergy to develop ground breaking light-enabled technologies.
