UMAMI Bioworks is developing a platform for producing cultivated, not caught seafood to enable local, price competitive production of cultivated fish that keeps endangered species in the ocean while providing consumers with healthy, low emissions, sustainable seafood. We enable traditional seafood companies to produce cultivated fish using our proprietary production system, which is based on better biology (novel stem cell line that can produce muscle, fat, and connective tissue and very low cost plant extract-based growth media) and better scalability (standard footprint, process automation, platform applicable to many species).
